1.Well this is kind of depressing not being able to fully utilize the full potential of my range extender.

 

2.my extender is able to connect 2.4Ghz band of my router but as we know their are certain limitations to that

.

3.now what i have been trying to do here is connecting it to 5Ghz band of router but the thing is it is not  .

by some miracle even if detects the 5Ghz band it won't stay connected for long max to max 30 - 40 sec then back to sqare one.

 

4.i am assuming it is a software issue as it is detecting 2.4Ghz band but not 5Ghz band .

 

5.I have tested it right next to my router but the result is the same.

 

6.factory reset was also performed but same result.

 

7.also i have tried it with 5Ghz band from my smartphone hotspot but same result.

 

what should i do.

Most probably your primary router uses wireless channels on 5GHz band which are not implemented on the RE305.

Try setting your primary router 5Ghz band to wireless channel 36 and test if the extender can detect your 5GHz band.

If the ISP router is protected by a password which you don't know, contact your ISP and ask them to do that for you.

 router is provided by internet service provider so their r are settings i cannot change 

which certanly includes changing the channel.
