Hi! Today, the AX53 router that I bought new from a store here in Chile arrived. My idea was to leave the ISP’s modem in bridge mode so that the AX53 router would manage the wireless connections. The installation was easy, and the Wi-Fi was working through the TP-LINK. However, I noticed that there was a newer firmware version, and I installed it. The new firmware version is 1.2.2 Build 20230627 rel.39033(5553). Unfortunately, I don’t remember the previous version and didn’t make a backup either. After the update, the TP-LINK router lost its internet connection. I have tried resetting and turning off both routers, but nothing has worked. Can you help me, please? 🙏

Hi, you could try following this guide to troubleshoot first:

What should I do if I cannot access the internet through Wi-Fi router?

 

If problem still exists, please let us know the Internet LED status, WAN connection type and also whether there is WAN IP address on the TP-Link router.

 

In addition, if you connect a computer directly to your ISP bridge modem, do you have internet access？

  @alvaaz I had this same issue when upgrading to this firmware version. I'm in Brazil. The solution was to exchange the AX 53 for another. It's been working for a while now. I didn't update any firmware. There is a problem that tp-link does not disclose.

Hi, do you still remember the LED status of the AX53 router after the firmware update? actually we are unable to reproduce the issue on oue end, so if the device is still with you, please let us know and we could try to follow up to see what the issue is.

  @Sunshine My device was exchanged by tp-link Brazil. The LEDs were all on, but it simply wouldn't connect. I contacted tp-link Brazil support and followed all the recommended procedures, but it wouldn't connect at all. The solution was to change.

  @Sunshine Thanks. I don't have any problems with the firmware, as I didn't update it, and I won't update it. Who knows when new firmware will be released?
