Hi - I have recently installed this 4G router which work reasonably well with its attached antennas - speeds were a little slow but signal strength was 100% (3bars). I have now installed an external antenna on the top of the roof. I now get excellent speeds up to 116Mbps download but signal strength has reduced to 75% and 2 bars. This does not seem to cause a problem but I wonder why the signal strength is lower with an external antenna. It was showing 100% for 2 days after installing the external antenna and then reduced to 75%. Any thoughts and how to increase strength greatly appreciated. Thanks

Does it connect to the same bands? Maybe you can share screenshots of the signal information.
With the external antenna it might connect to higher frequency bands, which are weaker but offer higher bandwidth.
And the cable is probably causing attenuation and losing signal. What type of cable is it and how long is it?

  @kernash Hi -thanks for reply. The cable came with the antenna and is 10m long. some sceenshots below - not sure if this is what you wanted? Does this help? Would it help to reset router do you think

Hi - have just changed the channels and back to 3 bars and 100% - just hope it stays like that - don't really want to keep having to change channels! Thanks for your prompt reply

  @kernash Hi again - have now maintained excellent signal strenght but have lost download speed - from avarage about 90mbps  to 20mbps and cannnot understand why - any ideas please?
