To an existing AX80 EU version which doesn't cover properly the entire apartment, I intend to add an RE900XD in AP mode, connected via Ethernet. In this case, will the RE900XD work in EasyMesh specs and provide seamless roaming? Or should I buy a second AX80 instead?

RE900XD in AP mode would not support an Easymesh.

If you want to build an Easymesh with ethernet backhaul you should buy another router that supports Easymesh ethernet bckhaul like AX80 - here's a full list of the routers that support this feature. Here's how to configure this.

RE900XD in AP mode would not support an Easymesh.

So basically the EasyMesh features announced in the latest firmware update for the RE900XD are related to the wireless repeater mode, not the AP mode, right?

 

In this case, most probably I will get another AX80 unit, to replicate the specs.
