What I would like is that my Deco organizes my media from my external drive so I can play it on any device that supports Plex, in the home or remote. Bonus points if it supports transcoding, so I don't have to worry about buffering.

More reasons to do it:

* Premium Decos seem to have all hardware and software capabilities to do it: USB drive support, multi-core CPU, etc.

* It bothers me to get yet another IoT device or use my computer to host a plex server

* Competing routers have been offering that for a while, see Netgear
