Wifi download speed very slow
When connected via ethernet cable to the tl-wpa8631p 4.0 I have ~40Mbps download and upload speed. Via a wifi connection the upload speed is the same but download is ~3Mps.
The wifi is using 40Mhz on a channel not used by other devices.
Any idea what is wrong/can be adjusted?

Hi, please make sure you are connected to 5G WiFi and run the speed test again.
If it is still slow, please check wireless link speed on the client list: How to check the associated/link speed on a wireless client
You could also try to change the WiFi channel and channel width to see if it makes any difference.

@Sunshine 5Ghz is slow (~2Mbps) too now (this afternoon it was fast ~80Mbps). The link speed of the windows device is shown as 866,7MBit/s.
I read something about a power save bug in some wifi devices of tplink which could cause this. Could this be the case? How can I check whether the device is currently in power save mode or not?

Hi, how about wired speed when you connect to the powerline extender now? if both wired and wireless speed are slow, you will need to check the router speed again and also check powerline rate between the powerline adapter and extender via tpPLC Utility.
To disable power saving mode, you could refer to this guide: How to enable/disable power saving mode on powerline adapters

@Sunshine The wired speed is always fast ~100Mbps. In the mentioned software it is only possible to disable power safe mode on the none wifi device the other does not offer this option.

@Sunshine any further ideas (except giving it back and buying from another vendor ;-))?
