Model: TL-WR802N
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version:

just receieved tp-link 300mbps wireless N nano router. Tried to getting it going on my desktop computer running latest version of Mint Linux, just installed. Plugged into NIC, light is solid green.  When i type http://tplinkwifi.net or 192.68.0.1 into browser, it can't find the device. The connection icon shows up on the task bar with an 'x'. If I click on it and go into network settings, wired security , the default authentication defaults to MD5, then I specify the username/pw supplied with the product, still no dice. I tried it on my windows10 laptop and had it set up in a couple of minutes, so I know the device works.

Hi,

To me this sound like the NIC is misconfigured in Linux.

Make sure security is switched OFF for the wired connection and preferably use DHCP to obtain an IP address automatically.
