Hi guys,

I'm using two of the TP link HX510 AX3000 Whole Home Mesh WiFi 6 AP to try and turn one into an access point to get better wifi coverage around my house.

I was hoping someone could help, as it seems I can only change the settings of the router connected to the modem, into an AP, which in turn drops the internet off to the house. Whereas the second router won't give me any access to turn it from a router to an access point. They're both the exact same model so it's a little confusing.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

If HX510 FW supports building Easymesh in AP mode, this should be a straightforward operation.

Configure the master HX510 in AP mode and connect it to your main modem/router - at this point it should work as a dedicated AP.

Reset the second HX510 to its factory defaults and use the WPS buttons on both HX510 to build the Easymesh between them.

@terziyski Hi there, thanks for getting back to me.
I did try and reset the master HX510, but when I swapped it to a AP the internet dropped out and wouldn't reconnect until I reconfigured it back to a router. Do you think this is because it's connected directly into the ONT box? I was hoping to keep the master as a router and reconfigure the secondary as the AP? Cheers

I thought that you're trying to avoid double NAT from another main router.

If you connect the HX510 directly to the ONT is should be in router mode.

The other HX510 should be configured as satellite - here's the procedure.
