Model: TL-SG3428XMP
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 3.0.3

Hello,

I have several VLANs in my network and the assignment of the devices to the VLANs also works perfectly port-specifically, i.e. if I assign a port to the PVID of the VLAN in the settings.

Now I also have ports to which different devices are plugged in depending on the application and these should be in a different VLAN depending on the device. I tried to solve this using MAC VLANs but the assignment doesn't work. I entered my MAC address for the MAC VLANs and also activated the respective port.

Nevertheless, the normal VLANs “overruled” these MAC VLANs.

Configuration:

VLAN 50 & VLAN 51

Port 13: tagged in VLAN 50 + 51, PVID 1 (default, admit all)

MAC VLAN: Port 13 enable, Device entered with MAC address

What am I doing wrong? - I read here in the forum that this is a known problem with this switch??

  @Clive_A

hi, thanks for the quick answer. I know the guide and i solved the problem yesterday night.

It was the Firmware.

I found on the german Website the Firmware 3.20 and now its work. On the english website there is only the version 3.0.3 and in this version the MAC VLANs doesn't work.

"3. Behebung des Fehlers, dass MAC VLAN bei DHCP- und ARP-Paketen nicht wirksam werden konnte."

Hi @Christian_9020

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

You might wanna take a look at the User Guide which explains the MAC VLAN. Pretty intuitive to configure.

I think you should check if your computer is set to using a private MAC address or not. Privacy on nowadays computers will use a fake MAC address. Is that what you have now? Don't get the wrong MAC address put there.
