Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Trying to set up my home system as we have finally got NBN FTTP.

I have set up the EAP (EAP610) and Wifi Router (ER706W) on a mesh system with Omada.

Router is in the garage, EAP is at other end of house connected via a separate switch (TL-SG2210P)

When the EAP was wired POE ( ethernet cable via  Switch) my devices wouldnt connect to WIFI, giving a "Wifi Password Incorrect" error.

When the EAP was unplugged from ethernet, just using the power socket and connecting to Router via Mesh then the same password was successful.

Any ideas

JP

  @JP_D

Please confirm if the Ethernet cable is of good quality.

Things could be a little more complicated than you suspect.

Can you confirm if the POE switch is wired to a port on the ER706W?

If you directly connect a laptop to the POE switch, does it get an IP from the same subnet as you would if connecting via Wifi when the 610 is meshed?  Can you browse the web?

Have you configured any VLANs anywhere, or created multiple LAN subnets?

In a typical full Omada system, the router, controller, switches and APs all belong to the management LAN, typically 192.168.0.x.  When you create a new WiFi profile, it typically consists of a new subnet and a new VLAN which allows you to apply ACLs between your users and your network gear.  You don't have to though, you can create the SSID and leverage the existing managment subnet.  I suspect that this may be the issue...as in the subnets and VLANs are correctly configured on the ER706W, but the POE switch is not and when your users attempt to join when it is POE powered, the radio traffic does not have a clean path back because of either IP or VLAN mismatch.

You could try the software controller, adopt everything and then see if it performs as expected when the controller does all the necessary underlying config.
