Model: Archer C6
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version:

I am requesting to have a fail safe parental control feature in TP link Archer C6 router and this feature can also be considered for all the latest tp link routers

This feature should reset the router to factory settings in case of specific network settings like DNS servers, DHCP servers are changed and if there is possibility of programming then it should also incorporate any type of changes to network settings of router.

I am using Cleanbrowsing DNS servers for protecting my home from pornographic content. However, I have given web interface password to my elder son to manage router settings for home on my behalf.

However, I have not taught him about advanced settings of the router but these days children have very strong technical knowledge and tricky. They can access the web interface to change the DNS servers and DHCP servers.

Having a feature which takes a snapshot of the network settings of the router and locks it with a second password which is not the local admin password is very helpful in this case. IF and WHEN someone tries to change settings like DNS and DHCP servers then the router should reset back to factory settings. This should also trigger an alert to user tp link tether app or binded cloud email account.

Remember this feature is more related to parental controls.

Thanks.

  @tplnkuser101

Hello, thank you for posting on the TP-Link community, and we certainly appreciate all your feedback and feature request(s) here.

We don't have any specific details that I can share around if this feature can come to your router, or when it might, but I'll make sure to log this feature request and pass it along to the team.

I'm moving this conversation into the ‘Feature Request (Routers)' area and tagging it as a ‘Future Consideration’ for better visibility.

Feel free to let us know of any other feature requests you may have, we’d be happy to send them up for you.
