Hi,

i am planning to buy AX55 and ER605 but I want to know if this below should work.

Info:

1. Primary location - Home

AX55 - VPN Server

LAN1 network: 192.168.0.0/24

WAN 1 IP: 1.1.1.1

2. Secondary location

ER605 - VPN Client

LAN2 network: 192.168.10.0/24

WAN 2 IP: 2.2.2.2

Main goal:

I want to achive that device on 2. Location with LAN IP and port 192.168.10.200:3400 would be accessible through port-forwarding on WAN1 like this 1.1.1.1:3400.

Questions:

- Is this possible? Below comment made me think about it that maybe isn't everything straight forwarded as I thought. My way of thinking was as long as primary router sees LAN2 subnet then port forwarding should work or It depends also which VPN i would use in regards to port forwarding between locations? https://community.tp-link.com/en/smart-home/forum/topic/538506

Thanks for any help!

Hi @Midoo

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

Regardless of the product line, Archer and Omada don't support port forwarding an IP that comes from the VPN tunnel.

This would be considered a request and will be recorded. Thanks for your feedback.

With a VPN there should be no need for port forwarding to access a device in the remote location.

However

If you have a client->server VPN , the client can access devices in the server LAN but not vice-versa
If you have a LAN to LAN VPN connection between the two routers, then devices in remote LANs are accessible in both directions

AIUI the AX55 does not have the ability to act as a VPN client or as a server in a LAN->LAN configuration
