I have 3 units Deco M4, but I want to add Deco M5 and use as main wired from my tplink router. Then M4 as mesh. Is that ok?

Hey and Welcome!

Yes that will work perfectly for you, you can mix and match deco as you feel necessary!

Have you setup the M4 mesh already and are looking to add an additional M5?  OR is this a new setup?

Hey again

In that case you just need to go to the app and add the M5 as an additional station on your existing Mesh.  You can then switch the M5 to the MAIN Deco using the app (see below) and once done, just move the M5 to the correct location and cable up as needed.

Below is a link on how to switch the Main Deco, its for the older version of the app but might help a bit!

With my existing router archer x10, where currently my m4 is connected. Now adding m5, whar set up do you recommend ? Is it archer >>>> wired to M5 ----- mesh air to m4 ?

I would say it really depends on how you have your internet setup.   If you are Fibre via a ONT (small white box that converts fibre to network) then you could bypass the x10 and just go straight to the Deco, let it act as a router and dial the internet for you

If you are however going to use the x10 as the modem and Deco as just "mesh" then that will work also.  However you might want to consider Access Point mode in that case!
