Model: Deco X50
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 build 20231229

As per many others here, I have issues with wifi cameras randomely dropping off network and will only reconnect with a hard reset

My network consists of 2x Deco X50s
No1 connected as a router/gateway to my Vodaphone provided gigabit connection
No2 hard connected with Cat 6 cable to No1 (this is set as an AP only) to give enhanced wifi coverage

Topcony Cameras are new and here

In an attempt to resolve i have taken the following steps:
Camera firmware is up to date

In Deco app - set:
Cameras to only connect to 2.4Ghz network
Set them a reserved IP address each
Set them as priority bandwidth devices at all times
configured the cameras to connect to the same X50 (no 2)
Disabled fast roaming

There are no issues with other devices on the wifi

Any help would be very much appreciated as im about to start destroying my home to hardwire the cameras back to the x50s
Many Thanks in anticipation

Hi,

For the unstable connection issue, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Check the WIFI signal strength between the Deco unit and the cameras in the client list. If is it the distance or the environment that caused the issue, it is recommended to use a wired connection.

2. Try 2.4G no encryption on the guest network.

Besides, please also check the distance between the cameras and the nearest Deco unit.

You can download a wifi analyzer to test the signal from the Deco at the camera's location. If the signal is too weak, then it is recommended to connect via Ethernet cable.

And I checked the link you attached, and find it is a outdoor camera. If you need to extend the WIFI signal to the outside for the camera, you can consider on this model: Deco X50-Outdoor.
