Firmware update breaks wifi
Auto update of the firmware on my AX72 pro seems to have knocked out my wifi capability, none of my devices are able to connect. Wired devices work just fine.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Error message is just stuck on obtaining an IP address then after timeout "Disconnected/ IP Configuration failure.

Hi, thanks for posting question here.
We need to confirm information below to better understand your situation.
Did you take online upgrade on your phone or PC?
Did you turn off the power during the upgrade process?
Before upgrade, the network work properly, right?
It is suggested to take factory reset and reconfigure the router.

Hi Thanks for the reply
The upgrade was set to automated update. it was not done via PC or Phone but automated by the router.
It did not loose power during the upgrade, logs dont indicate any outage and its on the same power source as my NAS/Servers they did not lose power.
The network worked without issue before the upgrade.
i had already tried a factory reset, its worth mentioning i have 2 of these routers and both recived the update, and both are behaving in the exact same way.
wifi clients fail to get an IP multiple times, if they eventually get an IP then they cannot access the internet via this device. devices on LAN operate as expected.
thanks

Hi, thanks for your update.
Here are our further suggestions:
1. Please take factory reset on Archer AX72 Pro and reconfigure it. Then disconnect all devices, and only connect your phone to the router to check.
2.What is the old firmware version on your 2 Archer AX72 Pro?
Can you try to downgrade to the previous firmware version manually from the official website? It is the same method as manual upgrading and you may refer to this guide.
Then check everything comes back to normal?

HI sorry for the delayed response.
I got some time to sit with the devices and first performed a hard reset (power on and then hold reset until light blinks and it resets router)
I tested again, same symptoms
I then tried installing 1.2.4 firmware, failed as it is an older version.
I then tried installing 1.3.1 firmware manually. this worked. tested and same symptoms.
I then put the router into safe mode (power off hold reset, power on while holding reset until middle button is orange)
I installed 1.2.4 from here. then tested, same symptoms.
i then upgraded using the routers "upgrade" button to 1.3.1 again, and tested, same symptoms.
I am able to get online, and if i use static IP i can get online but connection to the router drops sporadically.
WIFI devices cannot get an IP, nor can wired devices.
I have turned off DHCP server and turned it back on again, no difference same symptoms.
This happened to 2 routers with the same 1.2.4 firmware having update 1.3.1 pushed to them.
I have attached the logs for when i did the safe mode install of 1.2.4 and then again after 1.3.1 upgrade.
im at the next point where putting wire shark between the router and PC to see whats happening is my only option as the device logging is limited. And i feel like i have exhausted all avenues to "fix" them using standard methods.

Hi, thanks for your detailed update.
According to your further description, it seems unstable connection problem with previous and latest firmware version, happening on both wired and wireless connection.
If so, when the internet drops, did you notice the LED changes on the router? And how often does the issue happen?
Can you share the exact network topology? Do you use 2 AX72 Pro at the same time and who is your ISP?
It is suggested to refer to this troubleshooting guide to check further.
