Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.8 Build 20240226 rel.61914(4555)

Hello,

I ve been enjoying BE550 for few days now. It fits my needs. Almost.

I must keep my older wifi router to get all my devices in the network...

I have a "BLINK sync module 2" for CCTV.

It works with "2.4 GHz Wi-Fi" or seen on store page "Wifi network: 2.4 GHz 802.11b/g/n".

This device is still in production and sale. Blink is part of Amazon Group.

Tech support contacts : https:// support.blinkforhome . com /en_US/contact-support/blink-technical-phone-support

BE550 took place of a former router. It is set as Access Point as the former router.

I tried to connect  the "Blink sync module 2" on BE550 2,4 GHz wifi network with different configurations :

- reproducing older router settings (Smart Connect disabled. See screenshot of former seting panel. nothing strange, and reproduce as is in BE550 panel)

- with Smart Connect enabled

- through separate IoT network feature

Nothing worked.

And I could set up the module to connect back to the former router (I'll have to keep this old router until you solve the bug...).

I hope you can help.

Maybe it's just an option to check or uncheck. I hope so, but I don't know. It seems to be a bug to me.

Please help.

Attached : screenshot of the former router (old and from other brand...). The device can connect with this parameters, but not with BE550.

Hi, thanks for your detailed update.

Here are some suggestions for your reference:

1. Please check the BlockList if you are using Tether app.

2. Please change the encryption method of 2.4GHz network into "WPA2-PSK/WPA-PSK"  for a try.

3. Please try Address Reservation for your "BLINK sync module 2" .

It is also suggested to contact Blink support for some possible advice.

Hi, thanks for posting question here.

If your other devices can connect to BE550 proper, we can not say the issue must be from Archer BE550. Did you contact blink technical support?

We may need to more information to understand your situation better.

1. Please use BE550 to replace your old router, disable Smart Connect and set up 2.4GHz wifi settings(different names from other wifi band), if your "BLINK sync module 2" still fails to connect, please share the screenshot of 2.4GHz wifi settings on the Web UI of Archer BE500.

2. If you use wireless router mode instead of AP mode on BE550, does the same issue remains?

3. Please share your exact network topology.

Thanks for your cooperation.

  @Marvin_S

Hello,

I haven't contacted Blink yet.

The connection of the device still sorks with the old former WiFi AP. (right now, I keep it only for this device)

I can't say if it is a bad management from the Blink device, or from BE550 or from my set up.

1. Ok. BLINK sync module 2 failed to connect with this settings. It failed with these settings. I tried with IoT network too. (with former AP, security is WPA2 only, so I tried with WPA2 only too)

Screenshotszs are below.

2. With router mode instead of AP, I couldn't really try, it jammed everything. Because I have a all-in-one modem (in router mode). I am not sure how to configure and i feel it is not relevant testing.

3. Here is a drawing of my home network

--------- settings when connection fail below for the 2.4GHz device "BLINK sync module 2" ------------

I have almost no idea of what WMM, AP isolation, airtime Fairness and other Additional Settings do, and what's best settings...
