Model: Archer C50
Hardware Version: V6
Firmware Version: 0.9.1 0.5 v0001.0 Build 230810 Rel.38522n(4555)

I bought Tp-link c50 ac1200 from amazon couple days back misled by the title and description that it can give 867 Mbps on 5 ghz,but the wan is limited to 100 Mbps.

Is it possible to exchange it with a suitable better model and pay the difference assuming I can't return/get refund. It has been more than one working day since I send a mail and I am getting a bit impatient.

  @Idc_Idk

Hi

The 867Mbps you mentioned is the wireless link speed in the PHY layer, which is not the actual speed you can get. Instead, the actual speed is affected by a lot of factors, including the bandwidth, the capability of the router/modem, distance , obstacles and so on. Since the Archer C50 has the 100Mbps ethernet ports, speeds will be affected.

If your home bandwidth is greater than 100mbps and you bought it new, you could contact Amazon to return it and buy a Gigabit router:

Reaching out to Amazon for clarification on the option to cover the price difference for a product replacement may offer the most accurate response.
