After two years the wifi extender stop working (cheked with tplink power line network sw on the primary PC desktop). The extender it was very hot in the center on the side where the LEDs are. Replaced with the same model of kit and after a month the new extender had the same problem. Always replaced with the same model and after 15 days the extender stopped working and had the same anomaly. There were no voltage spikes in the home system that compromised the component because the other power line devices with the tp-link sw are seen regularly and work well. Are you aware of wifi extenders with poor internal components? OK it is possible that after two years a wifi extender module can fail but two in the space of two months seems excessive to me.
