Bought new from Amazon Australia delivered (Castle Hill, Sydney) Wed 18 Sept 2024 to upgrade a TGP provided Archer AC 1600 (VR 1600v). Serial No 2244200002936.

 

Cant get past first base. The Wi Fi lights flash but not the internet light. I set the new Wi Fi details on my computer OK.

 

After logging on to TP-Link WiFi, it opens but admin password does not work, all I get is a spinning wheel.

Tried resetting the little button a million times, tried turning off, waiting then on  several times. Tried rebooting the computer several times (Mac Mini M2).

 

Tried Tether, but as there is no internet it cant join.

 

It the router DOA or is there another password?

 

Do I have to let the spinning wheel go on for hours?

 

Any clues appreciated.

Hi

 

When resetting, you need to keep the router powered on. It is recommended that you press the reset button for a longer time to try.
Generally speaking, if the reset is successful, the tplinkwifi.net page will let you create a new management password or use the admin default management password.
If it still fails, it is recommended that you contact technical support for help:
