Model: Archer AX80
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.2 Build 20240428

I have a 1Gb internet connection, 1Gb Ethernet with 1Gb devices. I can max out the 1Gb connection on my phone and on my laptop when the relation is WLAN-LAN, and of course on cable (LAN-LAN, LAN-WAN). My only issue with this router is the poor WLAN-WAN performance. With my phone and my laptop I can reach only about 400Mb/s speed to the internet while I can transfer data to/from my NAS at 1Gb/s.

I repeat: I can reach 900-950Mb/s on the same Wifi6 connection if the relation is WLAN-LAN, and I can reach the same speeds on cable (LAN-WAN, LAN-LAN). So the NAT performance of the router seems to be good.

I use iperf to test connection speeds:

  • I can iperf from my phone/laptop to my NAS on Wifi6 connection at nearly 1Gb/s.

  • I can iperf from my laptop to a public iperf server on cable connectiom at nearly 1Gb/s.

  • But I can't reach more than 400Mb/s on Wifi6 to the internet, while I can reach 1Gb/s to my NAS at the same moment.

Of course I've tried some things to solve:

  • I tried to reset the router to factory default, everything left at default. No success.

  • I tried to downgrade firmware. No success. (Upgrade is not available.)

Is there anybody else who has the same issue?

Firmware version: 1.1.2 Build 20240428 Hardware version: Archer AX80 v1.0

  @RivalComp

I had a similar issue with one of the latest iPhone versions, update your phone's firmware.

For some reason, Apple doesn't like MTK

  @RivalComp I was in the same situation and upgrade to Archer GE800, guess what? It is worse!! GE800 sometimes drops the speed to ridiculous 100MBps....I came accross the forum to find a solution and just saw your post.... sounds like it maybe a problem with TP Link devices?
