Hello,


I am running the following setup


Main Deco X50 connected to ISP-router and to backhaul-Decos (LAN-cable)

 - 2x Deco X50 connected via LAN-cable to main Deco as backhaul to extend on longer distance

   - 6x Deco X50 as WLAN-sattelites connected eather to Main Deco or "backhaul-Deco" via WLAN


Now I have the problem that 2 of the 6 Decos that were connected via WLAN doesn´t find a connect anymore via WiFi after upgrading the newest firmeware.

They are flashing a red LED 4 times and one time a green one.

When I connect them to the backhaul-Decos using a LAN-cable, they get a connect and turn on the green LED on, BUT they doesn´t accept any clients via WLAN.

I pushed the reset-button and reseted the devices several times without success.


Thus I am thinking that the WLAN-mudule is defect.

Is there anything I could try next or is it likely that the WLAN-modules of my 2 Decos are dead?


As this would be a weird damage and before investing into new devices I would like to know some ideas of the community.  :-)

Hi, thanks for posting question here.

When you connect 2 Decos to other Decos via Ethernet cable, the LED get green. Then can you see two Decos on Deco app?

If so, you may try swap one of the 2 Decos with your main Deco to confirm, referring to this guide.

If failed or no wireless clients can connect to it, I am afraid the 2 Decos got defective like you said.

You may confirm warranty with the retailer or local support.

thank you so much for your very quick analysis and comment on that.

 

Yes, when I connect the Decos via LAN-cable I can see them inside the app, the LED turnes to green light and I can even configure them.

That is why I thought the electronics for connectivity must still work but as they do not accept any WLAN-clients but all other Decos  I have do, I came to the result that only the WiFi-module must be dead somehow. I connected to each single Deco I have installed and my laptop or smartphone connects correctly to each deco closest next by, but not with the two dead ones.

 

I thought the same like you said and feel more confident now that this two devices must have a technical issue.

I will get new ones then ...
