AX1500 - Automatic Captive Portal Re-authentication
Hi,
I have a AX1500 Wi-Fi 6 Portable Router. I am wanting to connect to EE's captive portal network thorugh the device.
I connect, and the AX1500 successfully creates a network and passes on the internet to my other devices. However, after about 8 hours, the captive portal authentification seems to expire, and I need to go back on my PC and login again.
Is there anyway to make this automatic, so that it automatically reconnects without me having to do anything?
Thanks!

Hi @ollie123654 ,
According to your description, this is a portal authentication. It is determined by the front end, that is EE. TL-WR1502X is only responsible for bridging. Authentication still needs to be performed on the client, such as a PC.
In other words, we cannot modify the settings on TL-WR1502X to reduce the number of authentications. You can check the following posts with similar experiences:

In addition, you may also ask EE if there are any relevant suggestions? To reduce the number of portal verifications.

Hi @ollie123654,
May I know it is the model TL-WR1502X? Please tell me which mode did you select?
For operation mode, please see How to set up the TL-WR1502X travel router
What is the specific information when the 'the captive portal authentication seems to expire'? Please take screenshots with error message.
In addition, does the front-end EE network also need to update the portal authentication every 8 hours?

@Joseph-TP Thanks.
Model is: TP-Link TL-WR1502X
I have it on hotspot mode.
The period of time varies, but the internet disconnects (wifi still connected), and then it wants me to open the browser, the EE's captive portal pops up, and then asks me to login again.
