Model: Deco X10
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.6 Build 20240911 Rel. 36533

Hello,

I've connected the Deco X10 to my ISP's modem/router, which has the 192.168.2.1 address and DHCP set to 192.168.2.2 - 192.168.2.254 and subnet mask 255.255.255.0. The Deco operates in router mode.

The Deco X10 has the following settings by default:

Default Gateway: 192.168.68.1

Subnet mask: 255.255.252.0

and its DHCP assigns addresses within the 192.168.68.x range.

I wonder why is that? Is there any particular reason why the Deco router decided to set those settings by default?

Thanks in advance,

dp

It is because Deco behaves as a router, with its own IP address range. Configure Deco to run in Access Point mode and it will provide IP addresses from ISP modem/router range. See Switching a Deco to Access Point (AP) Mode
