Maybe OpenWRT with Gargoyle will be better?

Same issue but MR3040
2013-08-27 16:33:58
I am having the same issue but MR3040. It does not recognize the USB modem. Same Airtel 4G ZTE modem. Sent a couple of emails to Tp-Link support. Both India and global support. Yet to receive any reply. Awaiting for this to get resolved.

Same issue here with MR3040
2013-08-27 19:22:36
I am stuck with this same issue with MR3040. Airtel only supplies this 4G modem. If anyone knows how to get Airtel 4G LTE (ZTE MF825) working with MR3040 router let me know. I have sent a request to TP-Link support and yet to get a reply when this will be supported. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

ZTE MF825A - same issue.

TP-Link support, please update firmware at the earliest. Tried everything except openwrt.
We can then start selling TP-Link 3G routers here since the Airtel 4G routers (with SIM slot) has 4G range (low signal strength) problems. The MF825A has no range problems.

Airtel 4G LTE: ZTE MF8S5A incompatible
2014-04-23 15:37:59
Is there an update on this incompatibility ?
I would want to use Airtel 4G LTE and use this TP link wifi router as well. As enquired from Airtel they are currently giving away only ZTE MF825A model dongle. As from the TP-Link website I do not see this model appearing in the compatible list.
Can anyone pls suggest which wifi router does support this model if not TP-Link's ?
Thanks !!!

MF825A & MR3020 with Firmware 14/04/14
2014-05-15 18:20:31
After updating firmware to 14/4/14 the incompatibility remains.
TP-Link support is sleeping !!!
Even tried updating firmware on another new MR3020. No support for MF825A.
