Region : Australia

Model : TL-PA411KIT

Hardware Version : V1

Firmware Version :

ISP :

I am looking at getting something like the TL-PA411 kit or something similar. I have a question about the speeds obtainable though. This is a 500Mbps model, but the network connection is only 10/100 Mbps. So how can you possibly get any more speed than 100 Mbps? Surely the RG-45 connection would have to be 10/100/1000 Mbps to be of any use?

Just read this link but TP's own explanation is as clear as mud, much like the user manuals. The term 'lost in translation' springs to mind.

There's a good website that reviews networking products called SmallNetBuilder.com but they haven't reviews any TP-Link powerline products yet.

You need to look at it in a different way.

The port as you rightly stay is 10/100 so this would be the maximum throughput through the port, The 500mb is there for the whole band width.

If you have say 6 adapters (all of AV500) and they were all working at the same time the max would be 83.3mb per adapter.

Hope that explains it a little more
