Deco x20 is killing connection to a switch hooked up to it
Hey All, So I'm having a weird issue with my Deco x20 home network set up. I have included a diagram which shows roughly how my setup is wired but here are the bullet points:
- Fiber modem connected to main x20 via cat6e
- Gigabit network switch connected to main x20 via cat6e (all wired connections are with cat6e)
- Switch feeds out to Ethernet wall jacks in my home
- remaining two x20 units are hardwired via wall jacks
My issue is that the main x20 appears to be dropping connection to the Network switch rendering all hardwired devices downstream disconnected.
This used to happen maybe once a week, and then a few times a week and now it's happening about once per hour. If I unplug the network switch's power and plug it back in, the connections are repaired...until it happens again which, as I mentioned is now usually after just an hour of uptime. Because power cycling the switch (temporarily) fixed the issue, I assumed the network switch was to blame so I tried plugging in a 5-port gigabit switch and just running connection to a few wall jacks and my Phillips Hue Bridge (which requires an Ethernet connection) but the issue has repeated itself even with the swapped out network switch.
I recently switched over to fiber internet but this was a problem I had been having before the provider change (previously on Xfinity coax).
I'm really not sure how to fix the issue or if there are some settings on the x20 that I can change to stop it from happening but I'm pretty sure the X20 is to blame because of the troubleshooting attempt above.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
