Model: Archer GX90
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.5 Build 20240428 rel.48921(4555)

The default NTP settings of "time-dot-nist-dot-gov" &"time-nw-dot-nist-dot-gov" cause performance problem (I use "-dot-" instead of "." in URL, otherwise cannot post content).

Due to inaccessible services (both "time-dot-nist-dot-gov" &"time-nw-dot-nist-dot-gov" are unrechable for some reason!!!) my router has date of 9 months ago and cannot perform well. So internet connection breaks up constantly.

I spent tons of time & effort before figureed it out.

Please update the firmware to

1. use "pool.ntp.org" especially for Europe

2. use both US & EU options for reliability by default. Not "just" US or "just" EU, but BOTH.

3. Test NTP when starting up and write an ERROR into System Log, so that it is clear that problem is not NAT or Access Control that restarts every 30 seconds.

4. May be relevant for other models as well.

I've always used

1: pool,ntp,org

2: time,cloudflare,com

( replace , with . )

My router(s) have never missed a beat :)

Hi  @SerhiyM,

Can you provide more details, such as screenshots, so that we can locate the problem more quickly?

Is it true that the time settings of the router cannot be synchronized at present?

The NTP server automatically synchronizes the time based on the country code. If there is a problem with time synchronization, it is recommended that you try to change the DNS to Google DNS.

@Joseph-TP The actual issue is that at some point router turns into an infinite loop of service restarts (similar to the below).

These restarts happen ~every 30 seconds. The impact is very visible during video calls when latency is <30ms, but video is freezing for a moment on every restart of services.

My DNS is set to Cloudflare Family 1.1.1.2 / 1.0.0.2.

At the same time when trying to ping any domain fails due to unresolved host. IPs ping OK.

I tried soft restart, hard restart, firmware update to the same version.

And the only thing that I see is helping -- sync time. I coincidentlly ended with what vBDKv suggested above: pool npt org + time cloudflare com

Thanks! Actually I ended up with exactly the same settings.
