Model: Archer MR200
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 0.9.1 v7006.0 Build 201215 Rel.35139n

I have the same problem as described here:

https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/655042

I use TP-LINK Archer MR200 branded by Orange (out of warranty already). I want to use it in "Wireless Access Point Mode" - I'm not using SIM card to connect to Internet. Instead, I only want to use the router as a switch (repeater) with Wi-Fi hot spot. Everything works, however, upload speed is unbelievably slow. Does not matter, if I'm connected over Wi-Fi or over Ethernet cable. Upload speed is about 0.001 Mbps.

Not sure why you replied to thread above with private message, however, if the advice is secret somehow, can you share the secret how to fix this?

I also tried to download the latest firmware from here:

https://www.tp-link.com/cz/support/download/archer-mr200/v4/#Firmware

I downloaded the one dated 2021-03-08 , but when I tried to apply it to the router, then after a while I received an error message stating, that the file is not applicable to my router (I unzipped and tried to apply the "bin" file, of course).

Thank you.

  @Vlad_84

Hi, welcome to our community.

I am afraid it is not the same problem as another thread said.

As I know, this model only support 3/4G router and wireless router mode. Not sure how you made it as repeater, but we can not guarantee it can work properly.

As for firmware, if your router is EU version, you may try the latest firmware from our global official website.

Thank you and best regards.

@Marvin_S , I would even thank you for writing back, but I'm not sure, if "thank you" is rightfully deserved in this case. With all due respect, it took you roughly 1,5 months to respond!

Also, your response suggests somewhat, that you don't even know your own product! All routers can be turned into repeaters including your routers.

I am willing to explain to you how to do it, hopefully, you will then take some time to think, how the issue I described could be resolved (as I still did not trash the router).

Let's say I have the main Router ("main") and you router (Archer MR200) which I want to use as a repeater and Wi-Fi hot spot.

1. Turn off DHCP on Archer.

2. Have DHCP turned on on main, however, put an upper limit to IP address range, that DHCP assigns. E.g., have the main assign IP addresses from range 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.100 (192.168.1.1 is reserved, clearly for the main router itself).

3. Assign static IP address to Archer, which is out of range of IP addresses that main assigns, for example 192.168.1.254.

4. Connect Archer to main with ethernet cable. That's it really.

BTW - yeah, I do have an EU version of Archer.

Best regards

Vladimir Gregor
