Hi all,

I have to increase my wifi range, but I still don't know the best solution. Please help me.

I want to trasmit the sing to 100m distance from one building to the other. But my problem is that there is other building between the transmitter and the receiver. I cannot place the antenna to a high place, over the buildings.

Now I have two TL-MR3420 routers with default antennas. I can find my signal but the connection is very slow. So, I plan to use an TL-ANT2424B antenna connected to the transmitter with TL-ANT24EC6N cable and use the receiver with default antennas.

Do you think is it a good solution?

Thank you!

The buildings in the way are signal killers as you sensed.

But TL-ANT2424B is a Parabolic Antenna..... I understand you are planning to use it to concentrate the radiation so that the signal can penetrate through those buildings, but I still don't think it is a good idea.

In case the building has a good barrier property of radiation, all the signal will be absorbed by the walls when using TL-ANT2424B. So considering only 100m, I think you should try TL-ANT2414A/B instead. For each TL-MR3420 you need two...I have to say that cost too much!

I still suggest you to put the antenna high enough, that will save a lot of effort...

Thank you!

What do you think about this, TL-WA5210G? I place it out of the building as high as I can and I connect it with wire to router. Could it make enough powerfull sign between the two buildings.

How are you planning to set up the whole network? Is it like this:

internet---ISP--- TL-MR3420_LAN1 ----5210 as AP )))) 100 meters (((( 5210 as client-----TL-MR3420_LAN2

If so, two 5210 should be powerful enough. And you can buy only one first and give a field-test. If it works then you can save some money

internet---ISP--- TL-MR3420 )))) 100 meters (((( 5210 as client-----TL-MR3420_LAN2

In fact, outdoor AP such as 5210 is able to transmit at about 2km as long as there is no obstacles in the way. I hear in some markets 5210 is advertised as antenna but it's not really an antenna..you know

Ok, Thank you!

I planned to use 5210 as a transmitter and MR3420 receiver. Becaues the transmitter's building has a huge wifi blocking. But firstly I buy only one and I test how it works. Thank you again for the help!

So you need to configure WDS on MR3420, here is a FAQ http://www.tplink.com/en/article/?faqid=227

Hope it helps.
