Persistent 24-Hour Disconnection Issue Between Archer BE805 and RE705X Extenders via WPS
Hello TP-Link Community,
I’m reaching out to detail a recurring issue I’ve been experiencing with my current network setup and to seek any insights or solutions that might provide a permanent fix. I’m using the TP-Link Archer BE805 as my primary WiFi router, and I have two RE705X wireless extenders connected via WPS. Initially, everything operates flawlessly—my IoT devices, smartphones, and other connected equipment work without any hiccups. However, after approximately 24 hours of continuous operation, I encounter a sudden disconnection of all extenders, which in turn causes all IoT devices to lose their connectivity as well.
Detailed Setup and Issue Description:
- Router & Extenders: I’m using the Archer BE805 as my main router and have paired it with two RE705X extenders.
- Connection Method: Both extenders were connected using WPS, and this method initially provided stable connectivity.
- Operational Behavior: For the first 24 hours, everything functions as expected. After about one full day, all extenders abruptly disconnect, leading to a complete network outage for my IoT devices and other wireless clients.
- Temporary Workaround: To mitigate the issue, I scheduled a daily reboot of the BE805 router at 3:00 AM. This restart resolves the connectivity problem until it reoccurs roughly 24 hours later. While this workaround keeps my network operational, it’s clearly not an ideal long-term solution.
Troubleshooting and Observations:
- I have verified that both the router and extenders are running the latest firmware available for their respective models.
- I have monitored the network logs and settings for any unusual patterns or errors that could indicate interference or misconfiguration, but nothing definitive has surfaced.
- The initial WPS setup works seamlessly, which makes the sudden disconnection after prolonged operation particularly perplexing.
Questions and Requests for Assistance:
- Has anyone else experienced similar behavior with this combination of the Archer BE805 and RE705X extenders?
- Could this be due to a firmware bug or an inherent compatibility issue when using WPS for the extender connection?
- Are there any recommended settings or configuration tweaks—such as switching from WPS to a manual setup—that might enhance the stability of the connection over longer periods?
- Is it possible that there is an issue with how the BE805 handles long-term connections with extenders, especially in environments where IoT devices are extensively used?
- Are there any upcoming firmware updates or known workarounds that have been suggested by TP-Link to address this specific problem?
I’ve scoured similar threads and discussions on the forum and elsewhere, yet I haven’t found a definitive answer or solution that addresses this recurring 24-hour disconnect issue. I’m eager to hear from fellow community members or TP-Link representatives who might have insights, troubleshooting tips, or confirmation that this is a known issue with a pending fix.
Thank you in advance for any advice or assistance you can offer. I look forward to a detailed discussion that might help resolve this persistent issue and improve the overall stability of my network setup.
Best regards,
