TL-WPA4220 wifi connections repeatedly slow down & eventually hang

Region : UK

Model : TL-WPA281

Hardware Version : V1

Firmware Version :

ISP :

The wifi connections on TL-WPA4220 intermittently slow down and eventually hang every day or so. When the connections slow interestingly I can't even get on to the Admin web interface but do have limited (slow) access to other devices.

The wifi signal is at full strength on the remote devices, and I have tried a number of different remote devices, all have the same behaviour. Power cycling the TL-WPA4220 brings it all back to life again. The hardwired Ethernet connections don't appear to be affected.

I thought this might be connected to the dhcp issues people are having so gave all the wifi devices static IP addresses, but this hasn't fixed the issue.

This does seem to be some sort of routing issue but without a network sniffer its hard to see what's going on.

All advice greatly received.

I'm having the same problems, i thought it was the pc being turned off but it does it all the time even when the pc is on. Hopefully this gets a fix or getting a refund

Just registered to say I'm having this exact same problem with the TL-WPA4220 kit.

Wired connection works fine, but using wifi requires restarting the Powerline adaptor every 12-24hours otherwise it's incredibly slow (from a steady 20Mb, down to a ~0.3Mb very high latency connection).

Any ideas? Already tried updating firmware to latest version.

Zaph, did you try different channels? Change channel width to 20MHz or 40MHz to see if it it more stable...

Hi Mavis, thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately changing the channel width (and the channel number) was the first thing I tried before even updating the firmware. Still the same problem of wifi crawling along unless restarted every 12-24hrs.

Did you try what Mavis suggested above?
How often does it happen? How many wireless clients are connected at the same time?

It's connected there 1 IP camera always and daily no more than 2 clients more. I changed the channel a couple of times, but always within the range less used. Nothing aids, every 2 or 3 weeks it sure hangs. Perhaps a new firmware should allow regular autoreset like some modems do.
