This will be very soon, and you can count on it.

I guess three months at most.

Where is this product?
2015-01-03 22:40:41
This product was announced in January 2014.

The last inquiry on this thread was August 2014.

Virtually all competitors now have launched an AV2 >1000 Mbps product.

When are we going to see this?

PA-8010 is a 1200Mbps product. Since the original announcement everybody offering AV2 MIMO-1000 products has decided to advertise them as 1200Mbs instead of 1000Mbps.

The competitor products you refer to are SISO-750 chipsets. So entirely different.

PA-8010 will be on the market very soon.

Please explain why they are entirely different.

AV2 has the following profiles:
SISO-500 (usually branded 600Mbps)
SISO-750 (usually branded 1000Mbs)
MIMO-500 (no product exists)
MIMO-1000 (usually branded 1200Mbps)
MIMO-1500 (usually branded 1800Mbps)

SISO-750 products using Broadcom chipset launched in Q3 '14. There are many are on the market already. TP-Link does not have a SISO-750 product currently. (TL-PA70xx was planned but seems to be cancelled)

TL-PA80xx series are MIMO-1000. There are not many MIMO-1000 products on the shelves. Most manufacturers plan to launch in Q1/Q2 '15. It is true that a small number rushed their products to the market in Q4 '14 but it would be wrong to say "virtually all competitors launched a product".

SISO-750 and MIMO-1000 are entirely different. SISO-750 tries to achieve faster speed by using a wider frequency band (compared to SISO-500). MIMO-1000 uses same frequency band as SISO-500 but uses two signals simultaneously. Finally SISO-1500 uses both the wide frequency band (2-86) and also MIMO but these products will not launch for some time.

Quite confusing that AV2 label is being used for both SISO and MIMO devices when the standard for AV2 suggests that MIMO support is part and parcel of that spec.

BTW TP Link UK have confirmed to me that their AV2 (now 1200) products should be available in February.
