Just purchased TL-PA4010kit adaptor connected to Smart Box goes into power save when box is shut down perfect,
adaptor connected to router will not go to power save unless Ethernet cable is unplugged.
Computer connected to router also shut down so no transfer of data should be taking place.
Thanks for any advice.

TL-LINK powerline adapters actually check the physically connectivity to decide whether it should go into PowerSave mode.

So if your router is always power on, then your powerline adapter will not go into PowerSave mode even if there is no data transferring.
On the contrary, if you turn off your router, your powerline adapter will go into PowerSave mode within 5 minutes.
