PPPoE connection drops

Hi,
Been facing a strange issue -
Here's my network config :-
Wired DSL (PPPoE) ---> MR 3020 ----> Wifi Internet access to Laptop/PC
Firewall enabled, ICMP/UDP FLOOD, TCP-SYN-FLOOD filtering enabled.
ping from wan/lan to device - blocked
The problem is - net connectivity drops every 5 mins on my laptop.
It doesn't matter what I am doing - browsing, http downloads, torrent; download speeds drop to zero in 5 mins.
Failing to understand the issue - is it between my laptop and router or between the router and PPPoE connection.
Strangely, when I connect PPPOE directly via the RJ45 port, everything works fine without any drops.
Would appreciate all and any help on this.
