TP-LINK has just released Tether 2.0, the latest version of our mobile app for our dual band routers. Tether 2.0 contains new features and a redesigned, intuitive user interface. It has the ability to quickly verify the status of the Network Map of all connected devices to your router and allows users to manage settings such as, but not limited to, Internet, main WiFi, Guest WiFi, parental control and privileges, all from the convenience of their smart phones.

· Enhanced security connection from tether to the Router
· Redesign of the UI makes it easier to use
· Manage permissions and set administrators
· Access Parental control features

At present, the following TP-Link routers are compatible with the newly released mobile app, Tether 2.0:

To use mobile app, Tether 2.0, or upgrade your mobile app from Tether 1.0, please complete the following:
Download or upgrade Tether 2.0 mobile app from the app store
1. Upgrade compatible router firmware to the latest version as shown in the above table


Android user:
Note: At present Tether 2.0 is not compatible for use on Android smart phones. Android users can upgrade their firmware for the routers shown in the table above. Firmware upgrade can enhance product reliability, but in doing so Tether 1.0 will no longer be compatible and user will have to wait for the future release of Tether 2.0 for Android.
