I already have a pair of TP-Link TL-PA451KIT AV500 Powerline Adapters - If I got a TP-Link TL-PA4020PKIT AV500 Two-Port adapters would these work in conjunction with TP-Link TL-PA451s. I have one of the TP-Link TL-PA451 plugged into the router could I plug one of the TP-Link TL-PA4020 in another room and connect without issue?
Many thanks
Martin

TL-PA451KIT and TL-PA4020PKIT are compatible with each other indeed.
If PA451 and PA4020 have been paired and they can communicate with each other, they should work as your expection.

When I originally set up the two TP-Link TL-PA451 I pressed the button on the one plugged into the router then on the second adapter. Do I just press the button on each of the TP-Link TL-PA4020 adapters assuming I use both? And they will link up to the original TL-PA451 plugged into the router?
Thanks

Are you trying to add a third powerline adapter or more in existing network?
For more adapters, press the pair button on one of the existing network, then press Pair button on the adapter which wants to be joined in the existing network. Simply add them one by one.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, in essence that is exactly what I want to do. The first pair are TP-Link TL-PA451 adapters the others will be TP-Link TL-PA4020 adapters. I'll do as you suggest press the pair button on one of the existing network, then press Pair button on the new adapter

I have tried as suggested pressing the pair button on the existing network adapter connected to the router, then pressing the Pair button on the new adapter. THe new adapter works but the initial adapter can no longer access the internet. What did I do wrong? Thanks

Maybe you pressed the button too long?
Just press one second and the power light will be flashing on one powerline adapter. If it won't be flashing, try to reset it or rename all your powerline adapters.

Thanks for the reply. I tried again by pressing the pair button on the new adapter not connected to the router then pressing the pair button on the old adapter. This seems to have worked. It is possible that I pressed the button for too long when I first tried but it is strange that the initial adapter lost connection to internet.

If you pressed the button too long, powerline adapters will stop the communication, and then your will lose internet as the connection to your router is disconnected.

Sorry for my question, but is it necessary to put these adapters on pairs?
I mean, can't we just plus all these 3 or 4 adapters in the eletrical network and play without the pair resource ?

Sorry for my bad english.
