Happy New Year!.

Is it possible to make access like WA701ND or WA801ND point to work as both client (connected by wire) and retranslator of existing WiFi network?

If not, is there any other single hardware piece that can achieve both goals?

main Wi-Fi ))) ((( 701 as Client ------- 801 as AP )))) ((( laptop

Is this what you want?:) It surely works and this combination is better than using a single hardware like Wi-Fi extender.

Thank you for reply, coca koala.

Not exaclty, more like

TL-WR1043ND, main router connected to WAN ))) ((( Access point in question, retranslating network to two laptops by WiFi and to desktop by wire.

Is it possible?

retranslating network
--- Do you mean repeating the WI-Fi? Sure, WA701ND and WA801 implement access point mode, repeater mode and bridge with AP mode.

In repeater mode or bridge with AP mode they can connect to the main Wi-Fi and re-broadcast the Wi-Fi. Laptops can connect to the re-broadcasted WI-Fi as well as connect to the Ethernet port on the WA801ND via wire.

But if you want it to repeat the Wi-Fi and implement NAT, you will need a Wisp router like TL-WR743ND / TL-WR843ND /TL-WR710N

Thank you, that is exactly what I want to achieve.
