Model: Archer AX23
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Here's the setup currently:

1x Router (provided the the ISP or Internet provider)

2x TP-Link AX23 both setup as AP

Questions are the following:

Can I connect the 2 AP together? ie. Router -> AX23(AP1) -> AX23(AP2) where "->" is a wired connection.
If I cannot, what solution could I do? I cannot connect the 2 AP to the router as it's on the other house and another wire would not be possible.

How should I configure it? same SSID but different channels for seamless connection?

Thank you for the answers

You can use a switch in the topology like: Router->Switch->AP1

                                                                                            |

                                                                                            ->AP2

or use the topology you described. Wireless channels can be set to "Auto".

You can set the AP1 and AP2 SSIDs the same or different - it's your preference.

  @terziyski can I connect AP1 to AP2 via ethernet cable without using any switch? or that's not recommended?

Ideally they should be connected to the router separately to avoid any bottleneck, but you can connect them in series if there's no other option.

Thank you for your help, would probably go without the switch as the network won't be congested.

Hi@Marc_21,

I would like to add that you should make sure that the main router is the only one that has DHCP enabled. Turn off the DHCP function in the AP settings and only keep the DHCP service of the main router.
In addition, setting the same SSID does not guarantee that the network can be switched seamlessly. In theory, the network you set up does not use Mesh technology.
