Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.6.1

Hi everyone,

I’m using a TP-Link Deco M4 setup and have two broadband fiber connections at home – one from Jio and another broadband ACT

Here’s the issue I’m facing:

  • When I connect a LAN cable from the Jio router to the M4, I only get internet access if the M4 is set to Access Point mode. If I switch to Wi-Fi Router mode, the internet does not work.

  • With the ACT connection, it’s the opposite – I have to use Wi-Fi Router mode to get internet. Access Point mode doesn’t work with ACT

This becomes challenging when I have issues with one connection and want to switch to the other. I have to log in and manually change the operation mode each time, which is not ideal.

Is there any setting I can change in the Jio or ACT router to make both connections work consistently in the same mode (either Access Point or Router)? Or is there something I need to configure differently in the Deco M4?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  @SamDavid

Hi, welcome to our community.

Usually, when Deco network connects to your Jio router, it should work as wireless router mode. So you may confirm with your Jio router support whether there is any limitation towards devices connect to the router. For your ACT connection, if your ACT device is a modem instead of a router, Deco network has to work as wireless router mode.

Thank you and best regards.
