Wrong router design for the leds...

Hi Guys,
I don't understand the new TP-Link choices with the leds !?
With my C7, the WLAN led is not flashing like those of my preceding routers (or like a LAN led).
I mean the led doesn't show anymore a real activity, flashing only at 1Hz or 2Hz.
With the C8 and C9, there is only one led for the 4 LAN ports.
These choices are far away of what I have on my Netgear router (or had on my Linksys), with different colors depending on speed, etc.

Same feeling.
The LED design is indeed becoming less functional. But a lot of electronic products is going on similar way. I can still remember years ago people usually modify a lot things on their Windows system, but nowadays windows is also becoming more and more simplified...
More brief outlook, less information, less settings or technical things provided, I think this is the trend most people like to see.. Even myself are becoming less enthusiastic about digging into electric products. Sometimes just buy it and use it.

Hello Tobacco,
I understand what you mean but nevertheless I think TP-Link on the wrong way with high end products.
List of routers by number of leds:
AC1900
Netgear R7000 : 12
Asus RT-AC68U : 10
TP-Link Archer C9 : 8
AC1750
Netgear R6700 : 12
TP-Link Archer C7 : 10+2
Asus RT-AC66U : 9
TP-Link Archer C8 : 8

I owned a router huawei hg 655b and wlan led blinking was a pain for my eyes on night, too brightness and blinking never stopped. On router more important is to working great, not number of blinking leds or other shining stuff. I like my actualy router tp-link, working great, is discreet and no invasive on my eyes.

That's not the issue here !
With Netgear or Asus, it's possible to switch off the leds... which is not possible on TP-Link routers... :D

Another issue, I can add here among the suppressed elements.
Who is the R&D responsible who decided to suppress the rubber feet?

Hello TP-Link,
Netgear is on the right way...
The new R6400 (AC1750 replacing the R6300 v2) uses 12 leds (with 2 colors)...
