Hi, I am used to put third party firmware in all my Tp-Link routers (basically dd-wrt or Openwrt/Gargoyle) to get some extra features important for me. In some cases stability/speed is not so good, then using the stock firmware is recommended. For all my TP-Link Atheros based routers I had, namely TL-WR1043ND, TL-WR841ND, TL-WR741ND, TL-WDR3600, TL-MR3020 and TL-MR3220, flashing third party firmware and then back to stock worked flawlessly, mainly because the TP-Link firmware without the bootloader part is available on the internet. Now the problem, my main router now is an Archer C9, based on Broadcom chipset, very good router but with the same limitations as the others in the stock firmware. Then I installed dd-wrt and it worked really very well, but there is one big problem, AC speeds are much more slower using dd-wrt, so I need to return to stock firmware.
I can´t found a bootloader stripped firmware for the Archer C9 to revert, so I tried to make my own.

I Know the bootloader partition is 262144 Bytes size

root@DAN_N:~# cat /proc/mtd
dev: size erasesize name
mtd0: 00040000 00010000 "boot"
mtd1: 00fb0000 00010000 "linux"
mtd2: 00bb0000 00010000 "rootfs"
mtd3: 00280000 00010000 "ddwrt"
mtd4: 00010000 00010000 "nvram_cfe"
mtd5: 00010000 00010000 "nvram"

But can´t find a _boot_ version of the C9 firmware to download and strip that first 256Kb.

Strangely this firmware exists in the TP-Link support page for other routers like the D9, very similar to the C9 with a modem, and I think this is why FriedZombie ( http://www.friedzombie.com/tplink-stripped-firmware/) has published a bootloader stripped version for that router. Don´t know why it's not available for the C9.
Any ideas on how to get this firmware with the bootloader or any other way to back to stock TP-Link firmware from dd-wrt?
DD-Wrt forums are not helping at all, several user are with the same problem (I´m using dd-wrt since april/2014).
Thanks in advance, any help or tip will be really appreciated.
Daniel..

@Daniel777

Hello,

I've had a similar experience with my Archer C9 V.4 (EU).

If you still have that issue you can find your solution either by visiting:
