Model: Deco X55
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.6.1

I have no forwarding rules set up. When I try to add my first rule for a specific client on my LAN, I get an error message telling me the IP is already in use. I have tried rebooting my Deco, to no luck. I have tried different ports as well, just to test it. This is frustrating, has anyone had similar issues? I do not want to do a factory reset, as I have many DHCP reservations and other settings that I rely on.

I've had forwarding rules before, which have worked just fine, also for the IP I'm trying to use now. Yes, I have deleted all rules relating to this IP before trying to setup a new rule. The list of forwarding rules is empty.

I am using this IP as a DNS server I the dhcp settings, which is the only thing I can think of, but that shouldn't be a conflict for port forwarding anyway.

Hi

Thanks for your reply. I found the solution, and thought I'd leave it here for others in the same situation:

My Synology NAS has two network interfaces. After connecting both interfaces (LAN ports) to my network, and then adding the two in a link aggregation group on my switch/synology, I had my Synology ip listed both as an online unit, and as an offline unit (same IP, different MAC) in the Deco app. I deleted the offline one from the device list (disconnected/offline devices), and I was able to add the forwarding rule without issues after that.

Hi, thanks for posting question here.

First, please refer to the two guides to check your settings:

How to set up Port Forwarding feature on the Deco

Why port forwarding feature is not working on my Wi-Fi router or Deco?

It is suggested to change DNS Server to another one like Google DNS, then check whether port forwarding takes  effect for your device or not.

Please share the model of your device and the screenshots of port forwarding settings on Deco app, if the problem remains.

You may also try to set up port forwarding on other devices to confirm whether it is normal.

Best regards.
