Hello,

I purchased 4 BE85 units and am encountering a strange problem.
Here is my layout:

I've to say that I use physical connections because there are too many walls between units on different floors.

Three units (1,2,3) work perfectly fine, but the unit #4 (connected through coax) gives me problems.

I would expect that it will take as a signal source the physical connection from MOCA, and the signal will be strong, but in reality, it takes as a signal source the unit #1 (wireless connection), and since it is pretty far, the signal is very low.
There is no option on the Deco app to change the signal source.

I don't think this is a problem with MOCA because when I checked the signal after the MOCA, it gave me 450 Mbps.

Is there any way to force unit #4 to use physical connection as a signal source?

@ligor Do you run your Deco mesh in Router or AP mode?

I suggest testing by directly connecting the 2nd floor Moca unit to the main Deco, to verify that the transit via unnamed router does not cause the issue.

I expected the BE85 to combine Ethernet (MOCA is seen as Ethernet by Deco) and wifi for the backhaul, rather than using one or the other.

Thanks @yves_b, I can try this.  What do you think the mode should be, router or AP?  Can I use different mode on each unit? How can I see it on Deco app?

@ligor If the unnamed box acts as a router, the Deco mesh should run with an operation mode = Access Point.

Otherwise, you should change the way the Deco are wired together.

The operation mode applies to the whole mesh.  The mode is visible in the Deco app, under More / Advanced / Operation Mode.
