Model: Archer AX72
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.6 Build 20240619 rel.72016(4555)

Hello everyone,
I’m experiencing a minor issue with my mesh network setup.

I’m using two Archer AX72 units with a single SSID that combines both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands using auto negotiation.
The primary unit (master) is on the ground floor, and the secondary one is on the first floor.

However, I’ve noticed that some devices located on the first floor are connecting to the ground floor unit instead of the closer access point, and vice versa.

I’d like to find a way to ensure that devices connect to the access point on the same floor they’re on, to optimize performance and coverage.

Thank you!

You can try experimenting with the transmitting power of the AX72 to see if that helps in your case:
