Unable to factory reset secondary Deco

My Main Deco unit got fried after a power outage i.e the LED stays yellow regardless the reset method. I tried making the second Deco as the Main but I cannot connect to it. The reset button doesn't put the second Deco in factory mode. The original network name stays intact after a hard reset and still not able to connect to it. The app asks for the Main deco but it doesn't exists anymore. Any idea on how to factory reset the second Deco?

There are two methods to reset a Deco unit or the entire Deco system:
1. Via the Deco app
1) Open the Deco app, tap the network map, then select the Deco unit you wish to reset. Tap the three-dot icon in the upper right corner and select "Remove". As long as the Deco unit is online, removing it from the Deco network will restore it to factory default settings.
2) Please note that removing the main Deco will reset it to factory default, and this will also delete the entire Deco network.
2. Using the reset button on the Deco device
1) There is a small RESET button at the bottom of the Deco device. Use a pin to press and hold it for 1 second to restore the Deco to factory default settings. The LED will flash yellow (resetting), turn solid yellow (booting up), then flash blue (factory default).

If you are having trouble resetting a Deco unit, refer to the steps below:
1) You only need to briefly press the RESET button; a long press is not necessary. Try pressing the RESET button several times (brief press) until the LED indicator starts flashing yellow.
2) The RESET function will not work when the Deco is showing a solid yellow light during startup. Please wait until the Deco has fully booted up before attempting to reset. If the Deco remains solid yellow after powering on, it may be bricked. In this case, please try firmware recovery or contact TP-Link Support.
