Model: Archer BE9300
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/wifi-router/archer-be550/

I am thinking of buying the above BE9300 router in the UK for my new 900Mb fibre connection as the ISP router is not that great.

What is the difference between v1 and v2?  I see there ahave been 2 firmware releases for v1 this year but none for the v2, so have they fixed the problems I have seen reported here and elsewhere.

Unfortunately, retailers in western countries stock products solely by the EAN/UPC code printed on the product's packaging, which TP-Link doesn't change for different versions of the same product. Hence, in western countries is it nearly impossible to know the product version in advance when ordering online.

As for the two existing versions of the Archer BE550. Like indicated by the AI you linked to, the V2 does support Wi-Fi 7 (which brings with it MLO) on the 2.4 GHz band, while the V1 only supports Wi-Fi 6 on the 2.4 GHz band. On the other hand, the V1 has a more powerful CPU than the V2.
So, if one has the possibility to actively choose which version to get, then it's up that person to decide what is more important to him/her.

Hi,

The specifications published on the websites of the Archer BE550 V1 and V2 are rather similar, but the hardware of the two versions is different, as some different chips are being used.

That means the firmware for V1 and V2 cannot be compared. A firmware problem that was fixed (or perhaps still not fixed) on the BE550 V1 might not be relevant to the BE550 V2, and vice versa.

I could only find the v2 on the Malayasia website so it's probably not available in the UK.
