Hi @Szaki26a,

Thank you for your reply.

This problem seems to be caused by the negotiation disharmony between the router and the phone. If there are other clients in the same location for comparison, it will be clearer where the problem lies?

Can Xiaomi router be used as an extender or access point router to expand the BE800 network? Perhaps it can improve the connection.

In addition, you can also try:

  • Delete the saved WiFi network in the phone settings, restart and reconnect.
  • It is recommended to use WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode.
  • BE800's 2.4GHz is manually set to channel 11. Channel width is changed to 20MHz to avoid rate fluctuations due to interference.
  • Check the occupancy of the surrounding 5GHz channels, and give priority to channels with less interference such as 36-48 or 149-165; channel width is tried to reduce from 160MHz to 80MHz to enhance wall penetration.

We will also feedback to the relevant departments, hoping to improve the connection and provide stability in the future.

Hi@Szaki26a,

Thank you for reporting your issue to our community.

Please confirm that you have connected the clients to 2.4Ghz,5Ghz or 6Ghz only, not the combined Wi-Fi band.Test the signal strength in different corners of the second floor.

Do you have a different client to test the signal strength on the second floor? Will it also drop?

Is there any error message? Please take screenshots with error message.

Here are some suggestions may help you:

    1. Router Placement: Ensure that your router is placed in a central location within your home or office. Avoid placing it near walls, obstructions, or other electronic devices that may interfere with the signal.
    2. Antenna Positioning: If your router has external antennas, try adjusting their positions to optimize signal coverage. Positioning them vertically or at a 45-degree angle can sometimes yield better results.
    3. Channel Selection: Check the WiFi settings on your router and select a less congested channel. This can help reduce interference from neighboring WiFi networks.
    4. Firmware Update: Make sure your router's firmware is up to date.
    5. WiFi Extender/Repeater: Consider using a WiFi extender or repeater to amplify the signal and extend its range to areas with weak coverage.

Best Regards~

  @Joseph-TP

1. I used original the combined band then when that not worked i tried the other ssid with 5 and 2,4Ghz. The problem was with -75DB so the signal strength was fine. I was not so far from the router only maybe 10m but a other router was close maybe 2m from me but that is a different provider different xiaomi router. 2.4 GHz only worked on that on channel 1 my router 2,4 GHz is on 6

Router placement is fine... I used many routers on same spot without problems. BE800 have in antenas only.

No channel interference the router 2,4Ghz us channel 6 and no other router use that channel at all.

The problem not signal strength itself i had signal almost max level...
If to be a BE800 beta firmware let me know...

  @Szaki26a Yeah, the signal's just too weak upstairs. That -75 dBm is dodgy. Your phone sees Wi-Fi but can’t connect properly, so it throws a wrong password error. Try switching to 2.4GHz or getting a mesh/extender up there. That should do it.

Hi@Szaki26a,

Thank you for your reply.

I want to confirm again, does your phone display a Wi-Fi password error when you go to the second floor? Will the phone disconnect from the Wi-Fi connection at this time? Or will it remain connected?

Is the SSID of the Xiaomi router consistent with the main router, but the password is different? If so, the phone may be connected to the WiFi of the Xiaomi router.

Please enable the guest network of BE800 and connect to guest network, then compare whether the same error message appears when moving to the same location on the second floor?

Do you have other phones or wireless clients? Please compare whether different devices have the same problem at the same location on the second floor?

  @Joseph-TP

I get no error messages normally. If I am right when i was deleted the saved password and try to connecting first time i got a bad password error.
So i am on the MLU version then go upper floor. I lost the connection and not automatically reconnecting yes. So no wifi upper floor.

Xiaomi is not part of my network but a different one. Different SSID same password. Not connected automatically because the password was not saved for that SSID

I not have other wifi 7 device at home just this phone... But i will look around...

Hi@Szaki26a,

Thank you for your detailed reply.

You mentioned that the 6Ghz signal strength is the same as 5Ghz, but the network connection speed is normal?
Could I confirm whether only 5Ghz is disconnected or there is no Wi-Fi on the second floor?

You can use different wireless devices for comparison testing, not necessarily WiFi7 devices. In addition, what is your phone model?

It may also be a good suggestion to consider adding a new device to expand the network on the second floor. There may be a dead spot on the second floor that cannot expand the network.

Best Regards~

  @Joseph-TP

My phone is a oneplus open

On the upper floor I see the SSID for 2.4 and 5Ghz but i cant connect to it.

I dont think a range extender need there i have a good signal so something not ok with the Router i think. My older router a Asus AX was perfectly worked there.
