Hi@mvtec,

Thank you for your reply.

May I know, when you set up AX73 as Access Point to connect to C8, did you also test the WAN port of AX73? What if you change AX73 to wireless router mode to connect to C8? Can you get normal speed?

If so, AX73 may have compatibility issues with the modem. Can you tell me the model of the modem?

In addition, when testing C8 directly connected to the modem, did you use the same Ethernet cable and fixed LAN port of the modem as when testing AX73?

Please change the network cable for AX73 separately and test different LAN ports on the modem for comparison.

Hi@mvtec,

Thank you for contacting our community.

According to the translation of Google Translate, I think that your question is the slow speed issue of Archer AX73. If there is any discrepancy, please describe it in English.

Could you please test the link speed of wired connection of the router: How to check the associated/link speed on a wired client

May I know if your network topology diagram is as follows:

ISP modem—router—main deco )))((( client devices

(Note: — stands for wired connection,)))((( stands for wireless connection )

When the internet speed drops, please remove the router and connect the router directly to the ISP modem with the same cable.

Please try different Ethernet cable between the modem and router WAN port.

Please try to hard reset the router and configure it again.

  @Joseph-TP

Hi, thanks for the reply.
I tried a Category 6 network cable. The connection with an Archer C8 worked fine. I wanted to upgrade and install the Archer AX73.
When connecting via WAN via PPOE, it only connects at 10MB, not 400MB, which is the contracted bandwidth.
I've already updated the software to v1.6.

The question is, is there a solution for the WAN speed?

It's not a problem with the internet service; it only happens to me with this router. I'm an IT technician, and this is the first time I've received this connection error.

I bought this model in the US on eBay. Could it be that it's a model for use in that country?

It has the latest firmware loaded and connects, but only at 10MB maximum per WAN via PPOE.

If you can help me, please.

Thanks.

Marcelo

  @Joseph-TP

Hello.
I ran all the tests and the maximum speed is still 10 MB per WAN. Could it be that the router is faulty? As an access point, it works fine, 400/30 Mbps, the LAN ports are gigabytes.

My intention was to use it as a router. Maybe there's any firmware that can improve the WAN connection?

In my country, it's used via PPOE via WAN to ONT, and the connection is via fiber optic.

Everything is fine with the provider, since everything works fine with the Archer C8.

The idea was to replace the C8 with the Ax73.

Thank you very much for the answers.

Hi@mvtec,

Thank you for your detailed reply.

Do you mean that when Archer C80 is used as main router and Archer AX73 is used as satellite router (Access Point mode), Archer AX73 can reach 400/30Mbps?
If so, I suggest you consider copying C80's Mac address to AX73.

Or, when Archer AX73 is used as main router but works in Access Point mode, the speed can be restored to normal?
This may be because the original settings limit the network speed of the router. Please try to hard reset the Archer AX73 to confirm that there are no restrictions on the existing settings.

Best Regards~

  @Joseph-TP

Yes, connecting the AX73 to the C8 as an access point connects to 400/30 Mbps (4 GB/s).
I've already reset it to factory settings and configured the AX73 as a router. It connects at 10 Mbps full duplex via the WAN port to the ONT's fiber optic LAN.

I have an Archer C8 installed, and it works fine. The idea was to upgrade the device.

Thank you very much.
