Hello!

Would like to seek some advice.

Previous setup: Deco M9 plus (3 units) across 3 storeys

The family decided to go with another provider, which comes with EX510 as the main router. Unfortunately, the installer just came and replaced the router with the new EX510.

Thus, some dead spot has no internet access, which was served perfectly with the previous setup.

Questions:

1. Can I replace the new EX510 with the existing Deco M9 plus to connect to the ISP, and retain the setup to minimize the impact?

2. Is it redundant to use EX510 as the main router, and connect the other M9 plus?

Goal:

To establish a single SSID mesh network

Your recommendation & advice are welcome.

Thank you.

Nic

Hi@nicholas_lai,

Welcome to community.

As terziyski said, Deco M9 Plus can be used as a main router. If EX510 cannot be removed, you can also consider turning off the WiFi of EX510, then connect Deco M9 Plus to EX510 and reconfigure Deco Mesh network.

Best Regards!

Deco M9+ could serve as a router and probably should be able to replace the EX510 as a main router.

Check that with your ISP and if it fits their service then the EX510 will be redundant.
