I have two networks, one is a Deco for my main network and the other is Tether based for my IoT Network. While the Deco app is slow to update in real time client activity, it has a vastly superior amount of options for configuring it when compared to the Tether app. I have found the Tether app not only has less functionality but that the functionality it does have is often severely lacking or sometimes just doesn't work.

Firstly in the main router it only shows online clients and doesn't have an offline client list which makes it more difficult to modify client details if the client device doesn't give out much information (which it rarely does). Identifying a lot of smart products can be a pain, especially ones like light bulbs which aren't showing as always connected.

I have the Tether network expanded with the RE330 range extender but that doesn't seem to take any of the information from the main router at all. I have had to repopulate all of the client details which again without an offline list can be very difficult as trying to force a device to connect to a specific AP would disrupt the IoT network a lot. The other thing about the range extender is that it has NO option for blocking at all. I have found that the easiest way to identify clients without constantly messing with the IoT network is to simply just block the client and then when I can't use a device, check it. As far as the extender goes it has virtually no useful utilities for managing the network.

I thought I could get around the fact there was no blocking for the extender by blocking the mac in the main router, after all the extender is just extending this network so should really just inherit the same configuration really. Nope, blocked the device in the main router and it still connects to the extender without a problem.

Are Tp-Link every planning on making the range extenders inherit the specified config in the main router? It would be so much easier for it to literally just use the same configured client list and the same block list, Also do you ever plan on adding more functionality, at the very list a block option, for range extenders?
